This is a place to be cared for
Codependence is a relationship pattern that is the result of anxiety. It often leads to low self-esteem, need for control, poor boundaries, and other undesirable behaviors.
Codependence can feel like:
Shame and believing “I don’t measure up, something is wrong with me”.
Believing a relationships with a significant other will fill the ultimate need for love.
Being bound in relationships by performance (what I do) rather than core value and worth (who I am).
Overly caring for other people to the neglect of yourself, feeling victimized and used as a result.
Difficulty saying no
Tolerating mistreatment or abuse from people, while justifying their behavior and trying to defend them
Left without care, these experiences can lead to damaging burnout and exhaustion.
These are just some of the common signs of codependence and burnout but it is not a one size fits all experience.
This behavior and way of showing up for people is often times something that was taught or expected of you at a very young age.
The good news is, if this is something you recognize and it’s no longer serving you, it can be unlearned.
If this sounds like you, you’re in the right place. I am passionate about helping you break the chains of shame and I invite you to be fully human and fully seen through all of life’s challenges.

Everyone is different ...
I tailor my approach to each individual’s needs, often pulling from more than one therapeutic style for any individual.
With that said, I tend to emphasize person centered therapy as the foundation to other evidence-based approaches which might be relevant to your needs.
In particular, I prioritize understanding your perspective on treatment and what you would like to see for yourself. Together we identify treatment modalities which would best serve you and navigate changes.
Ultimately, I will always collaborate with you on your care.
